Bruno Kirby (Born April 28, 1949... Died August 14, 2006) I really consider myself more of a "song & dance man" chimes acclaimed actor Bruno Kirby. Growing up in Nrw York City in the 1950's... I naturally have a solid foundation in tap, but I also studied another six years of modern dance. And I've had a voice coach since the age of three. I mean I don't dance professionally anymore but when I was in rehab... I think dancing twelve hours a day was the only reason I made it through. Sure people laugh at Richard Simmons and all that... but he's genuinely one of the finest human beings I have ever known and the time I spent "Sweatin' to the Oldies" probably saved my life.
I guess i started thinking about becoming an actor was when i was ten years old. We had just gotten our first television set and I stayed up watching this show... "Night Beat" with Mike Wallace or "Late Night" with David Letterman... it was one of those real old blowhards who've been around forever... anyway... the guest was Marlon Brando and back then I thought he was about the coolest guy in the world. That's why I was so thrilled when i got the part of Clemenza in Godfather II. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that he wouldn't be in the sequel. I mean Robert DeNiro is a decent actor in his own right (or at least used to be) but... geez... the chance to work with Brando... that would've been something.
But you know... even though I haven't reached the top rung in Hollywood... I still wanted to try and give a little something back... Boy what a mistake that turned out to be...See... i was supposed to take this dying kid to the world series one time for some dying kid charity... and I did... but the kid ended up dying anyway. I mean like I know going to world series isn't gonna save his life but... crap... what a bummer. Nowadays... when I hear about these Hollywood stars making fifty million a year and contributing nothing to society... I just think to myself... Hell... How do I get in on that?
If there's one dream I still have left... i guess it would be to star in a remake of the John Waters film Mondo Trasho. I've tried to get people interested but Mr. Waters doesn't return my calls. I've got a blog now... not written in it yet... probably never will... just ain't enough O's in smooth to describe me I guess. Sure... I've been offered the cash to shill for GoldenPalace.com... but seriously... Jesus on a tunafish sandwich... I'm thinkin' they'll be better offers soon... I may be wrong... anyways... take care.
Your Pal,
Bruno Kirby
